K-State Libraries has licensed a chat facility named Libraryh3lp, which is integrated into the third box of the call to action layer.

Website visitors can click a button to initiate a chat session.  The text and operation of the chat button depends on whether a staff member is available.  When a staff member is available, the link might say "Chat with us" and initiate a chat session.  When no staff is available, the button might say "Contact us" and lead to a form that sends an email message to be answered when staff is available.

Responding staff members sign in to a Libraryh3lp interface to indicate availability for chat sessions.
