From the desk of Dr. Montelone: NSF's 10 Big Ideas, Part 3

Proposals that address the Big Ideas “Understanding the Rules of Life”, “Navigating the New Arctic”, and “Harnessing the Data Revolution” are particularly encouraged. This program is also related to NIFA’s new program Sustainable Agricultural Systems. Proposals using current or planned data from NSF-, USDA NIFA-, and UKRI-supported activities as well as existing projects (e.g., NEON or LTER) are encouraged.

Proposed projects MUST have a UK collaborator as Senior Personnel and may request three years of support of up to $800K for the US portion and £800K for the UK portion. The UK-located research will be funded by UKRI rather than NSF or USDA NIFA.

We do not have a limit on how many proposals can come from K-State, but individual investigators may serve on only a total of two projects as PI, Co-PI, or Senior Personnel.

This opportunity is very well-aligned to K-State strengths in several colleges and I hope that we have a number of applications submitted.
