The 2023 48-Hour Film Challenge kickoff event will take place at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 24, in Town Hall, 114 Staley School of Leadership.

The event is open to all students currently enrolled at Kansas State University. Students should sign up to participate in the Film Challenge at k-state.edu/48filmfest/sign-up.html.

"Join us on Friday, March 24, to get the three elements you'll need to include in your short film: a line of dialogue, a prop, and a setting. Once the clock starts, you and your team will have 48 hours to write, shoot, edit, and submit a film and compete for first prize and audience choice awards," said Katy Karlin, professor of English and coordinator for the certificate in film studies and the 48-Hour Film Challenge.

The films will be judged by a panel of film experts and will screen at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, in the K-State Student Union, Flint Hills Room.

For more information, visit the 48-Hour Film Challenge website. Additional information from past years is available on the department of English blog.

The event is sponsored by the department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences in collaboration with other departments in the certificate in film studies and with additional campus groups, including the Union Program Council and Wildcat Watch.
