Register today for the Academic Chairpersons Conference

Submitted by Ashley Nietfeld

Registration is now open for the 40th Academic Chairpersons Conference. The conference will be Feb. 8-10, 2023, in New Orleans. This conference is coordinated by K-State Global Campus, which has always appreciated the support of the K-State community and hopes you will be able to participate in 2023.

The conference will feature keynote presenter Bryan Alexander, an award-winning, internationally known futurist, researcher, writer, speaker, consultant and teacher working in the field of higher education's future. In addition to his keynote presentation, he also will hold a live presentation of his weekly program "Future Trends Forum." This weekly live video conversation space focuses on what’s next for academia. It is sure to be a great interactive event.

Throughout the conference, there will be numerous breakout sessions and interactive workshops addressing the following themes:

  • Enrollment/Budget Management, Evaluation and Assessment.
  • Emerging Trends in Higher Education.
  • Becoming an Effective Servant Leader.
  • Operating the Department.
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

One-on-one mentoring sessions with experienced chairpersons will be available to conference participants. Additionally, the optional New Chair Alliance pre-conference workshop will be offered on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, for an additional fee. Workshop space is limited, so we encourage you to register early.

Regular registration rates for the conference are $695, but K-State faculty and staff receive a $100 discount. The early registration deadline is Jan. 8, 2023. To register, please visit the Academic Chairpersons Conference website and click the "Register Now" button. On the registration page, select the "Registration: $695" registration option — this option should already be preselected — then click the "Add to Cart" button at the bottom.
