Transgender Day of Remembrance Candlelight Vigil
Gender Collective, a registered departmental student organization, is hosting a Transgender Day of Remembrance Candlelight Vigil featuring state Rep. Stephanie Byers from 7-8 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Oneok Room of the Morris Family Multicultural Student Center. The schedule of the event is as follows:
7-7:30 p.m. indoors: The first portion of the event will be in the Oneok Room of the Multicultural Student Center. Byers will speak on the importance of TDOR, her personal experiences with TDOR and what TDOR means to her.
7:30-7:45 p.m. outdoors: Name reading of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.
7:45-7:50 p.m. outdoors: Five-minute period of silence and remembrance.
7:50-8 p.m. outdoors/indoors: Optional time for reflection and thought.
