The fourth national Energy Efficiency Day will be observed Oct. 2, but efficiency is a year-round goal. To promote this day, the Kansas Corporation Commission Energy Division and K-State Engineering Extension's Kansas Energy Program will host a Kansas Energy Efficiency Expo from 4-8 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 410 S. Third St., Manhattan.

The expo will be targeted toward residential energy efficiency and will include several exhibitors offering services such as insulation, replacement windows, high-efficiency appliances and public transportation. The day’s events will include demonstrations, activities for younger children, and live music from local musician Doug "Chappie" Chapman, a 2013 inductee into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame.

Prize drawings for gift certificates from local businesses, a football signed by Chris Klieman, K-State football coach, and an Echo Spot will be available. You do not have to be present to win.

The public is invited to enjoy the festivities while learning how to increase the energy efficiency of their homes and put money back into their pockets. To learn more or for assistance, visit kansasenergyprogram.org/2019KEEE, email ksenergyprog@k-state.edu or call 785-532-4998.
