Next steps: Student organization registration

Submitted by Center for Student Involvement

Student organizations must register with the Center for Student Involvement on an annual basis in order to maintain access to the benefits of being registered, including access to facility reservations, SGA funding, OrgCentral and Center for Student Involvement promotions and events.

On Friday, Sept. 27, the registration window for organizations to complete the process for the 2019-2020 academic year closed. While there were a great number of organizations that did complete the process as required, there are still a number of groups who have not.

If you are a part of a student organization, advise a student organization, or are a department/college/unit head that has previously sponsored a registered student organization, the Center for Student Involvement recommends reviewing OrgCentral to see if the group is still displayed. Those groups who did not complete the requirements by the deadline, have been turned inactive and will no longer be displayed on OrgCentral.

Additionally, you can review your organization's registration status on the tracking spreadsheet. Those groups highlighted in grey have completed the process for 2019-2020 while those not highlighted in grey have not.

The Center for Student Involvement does have an open registration policy that allows any organization to register at any time throughout the year. For those groups who are wishing to start a new or reactivate an organization, center staff will host four make up in-person sessions this week.

All of the sessions will be in the Center for Student Involvement Conference Room in Suite 114 of the K-State Student Union. Make up in-person sessions:

  • 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2
  • 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3
  • 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4

Questions about an organization's status or about the registration process can be directed to the Center for Student Involvement at 785-532-6541.
