Graduate students showcase research at annual research forum

Submitted by Kelsey Peterson

Research and scholarly work will be presented by 160 graduate students to the campus and community at the 21st annual K-State Graduate Research, Arts, and Discovery, GRAD, Forum, formally known as K-State Research Forum.

The forum will be from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, in the Engineering Complex. The event is free and open to the public.

This on-campus event provides graduate students from all disciplines an opportunity to share their work with the K-State community and to gain experience presenting their work in a professional setting. The forum will include oral presentations and poster presentations from research topics including engineering, social sciences, humanities, education, agricultural sciences, math, physical sciences, biological sciences and interdisciplinary research. To see the event's schedule, visit the Graduate School website.

University faculty judges will select the top presenters in each session. An awards ceremony will start at approximately 4:30 p.m. in 1109 Engineering Hall in the Engineering Complex, which will include a special presentation from Matt Garcia, assistant professor in the art department; and April Bojorquez, instructor in the American ethnic studies department and assistant curator at the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum.

The forum is sponsored by the Graduate School, the Graduate Student Council, and the offices of the president and provost.
