Indian Grass, Sorghastrum Nutans

Example of Indian Grass

Full Sun, Native, Warm-season

This is a very adaptable native grass that can take a variety of conditions from moist to dry soils. The plants were very small when they went in the ground, but they grew quickly.

No blooms were observed the first year, but the plants flowered prolifically the second season. The dark red-brown seed heads were very noticeable among the grasses in the trial.
