All floors of Hale Library now open

Submitted by Cailin Riley

As you return to campus, remember that all five floors of Hale Library are now open. Students will have the opportunity to explore many spaces, including various study spots, collaboration rooms and other renovated areas such as the historic Great Room.

The new Sunderland Foundation Innovation Lab, which is open to all students, offers a wide variety of high-tech gear and spaces, including a media studio, Liquid Galaxy display and equipment checkout. Coming soon, the lab will also include 3D printers, makerspaces, a sound studio and more.

For quiet study, students can use the Great Room and the fourth floor. Graduate study rooms are available on the third floor for use by graduate students only.

Hale Library will be open during the following hours:

  • Sundays: 1 p.m. to midnight.
  • Mondays-Thursdays: 7:30 a.m. to midnight.
  • Fridays: 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Students should remember to bring their own face masks, in accordance with the university's face masks policy. Increased cleaning will continue, and patrons will be provided with cleaning materials as well so they can clean study areas and equipment before each use.

If you need help or have questions about the Libraries, students can visit the Library Help Desk on the second floor, call 785-532-3014, use our online chat service, accessible at lib.k-state.edu, or email libhelp@k-state.edu.
