Sapiens Symposium celebrates anthropology students

Submitted by Michael Wesch

The anthropology program hosted the Sapiens Symposium, its annual signature event, on April 28.

Khiana Harris, class of 2015, presented the keynote address. Harris was accepted into the prestigious JET program for teaching in Japan after graduation and is now completing her master's degree in library and information science at Emporia State University. Harris has also been an activist in the Sunrise Movement for Climate Justice.

Several current anthropology students gave short talks and presentations about their anthropological work, travels and research.

The anthropology program congratulates the following students who received awards at the Sapiens Symposium event:

  • Susana Jones, K-State Archaeological Field School Scholarship.
