Science on Tap: 'A white Christmas ... what's the chance?'

Submitted by KSCI

Join us for a holiday-weather-themed Science on Tap with Chip Redmond from the K-State Weather Data Library and Kansas Mesonet, and Matthew Sittel from the State Climate Office, from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Manhattan Brewing Company, 406 Poyntz Ave., Manhattan.

Redmond and Sittel will discuss the odds of having a white Christmas and the challenges of accurately estimating snowfall across the state. They are also offering opportunities for you to get involved in citizen science associated with climate research.

Science on Tap is offered in a relaxed setting and features free informal presentations, fun activities and lively conversation about science. The goal is to build the community's enthusiasm for science in a fun and unique way. The event is offered in partnership with K-State's Division of Biology, Sunset Zoo and Manhattan Brewing Company.
