Council on Parking Operations holds May 12 open forum

Submitted by Jeff Barnes

The Council on Parking Operations will hold an open forum at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 12, via Zoom

The council is proposing changes to the traffic and parking regulations. Most of these changes address wording for the upcoming shift to license plate recognition. View a full list of the proposed changes.

After the presentation of the regulation changes, a brief license plate recognition presentation will follow and allow for Q&A via chat.

The proposed changes to the traffic and parking regulations include the following:

  • Parking permits may either be physical or e-permits, connected to the license plate(s) registered on parking assignee’s parking account.
  • Permit enforcement shall be done primarily using license plate recognition software.
  • Vehicles must be parked so that a valid license plate or temporary registration is clearly visible from the driving lane.
