Paz, Moody and Eiselein to present 'Engaging and Supporting First-Generation Students: A Multi-Modal Approach'

Submitted by Teaching & Learning Center

Rebeca Paz, assistant director of the Office of First-generation Students; Kiley Moody, managing director of Scholar Services; and Greg Eiselein, director of K-State First, will present "Engaging and Supporting First-Generation Students: A Multi-Modal Approach" from noon to 1 p.m. CST Wednesday, Nov. 11, via Zoom.

During this interactive online workshop, Paz, Moody and Eiselein will talk about why the success of first-generation students matters so much and why universities often struggle to meet their needs. They will discuss what instructors can do to engage and support first-generation students who may be experiencing imposter syndrome or other challenges. And they'll highlight the ways that we can deploy best teaching and learning practices across multiple modalities to support our students, even during a pandemic.
