Reminder: Retirement reception honoring Steve LaFever today

Submitted by Tara Fronce

A retirement reception honoring Steve LaFever, chief audit executive, will be from 2-4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, in the Barrett Wildcat Den at the K-State Alumni Center. Formal remarks will begin at 2:30 p.m.

LaFever has served as the director of Internal Audit since 2014. Some of his accomplishments at K-State include expanding campus awareness of ethical and internal control issues and developing the annual audit plan based on a formalized audit risk assessment.

LaFever has more than 35 years of experience in higher education in the areas of audit and finance. Before coming to K-State, he worked at Wichita State University for 17 years as controller and then as director of financial reporting, financial data analysis and investments. He also had positions at Missouri Southern State College, University of Central Florida and Tomlinson College. He began his career in public accounting and is a certified public accountant.

Cards and letters of congratulations may be brought to the reception or sent to Tara Fronce, 105 Anderson Hall, 919 Mid-Campus Drive North, Manhattan, KS 66506.
