Important information regarding employee leave

Submitted by Human Capital Services

Please note the following information regarding vacation leave accrual for the month of November and deadlines for the discretionary day.

November vacation leave accrual: The Nov. 27 paycheck will be the third paycheck in the month of November. Employees who accrue vacation leave will not accrue vacation hours with this paycheck. Vacation leave is accrued 22 out of the 26 pay periods, or 176 hours, each fiscal year. For fiscal year 2020, the paychecks with no vacation leave accrual include Nov. 27, 2019, as well as the last three pay periods of the fiscal year — May 29, June 12 and June 26, 2020.

Discretionary day: Employees who have not already used their discretionary day must do so by Dec. 28, 2019. Refer to your leave balances in HRIS Self Service to determine if your discretionary day is still available. If the abbreviated word "D-Day" appears, the discretionary day is available. The "D-Day" will not display if the hours have been used. The discretionary day for 2020 will be available starting Dec. 29, 2019.
