Cats for the Climate

Submitted by Sarah Inskeep

Global Climate Strike

Students for Environmental Action, a registered independent student organization, and other K-Staters are organizing Cats for the Climate.

On Friday, Sept. 20, three days before a United Nations emergency climate summit in New York, people are mobilizing for the largest global climate strike ever. The K-State group will host a similar climate strike event to call attention to climate science and climate justice. With this event, members of Students for Environmental Action say they hope to demonstrate that people are no longer willing to continue with business as usual.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bosco Student Plaza, the group will share information about the climate crisis, the Global Climate Strike, and about the upcoming U.N. climate summit. They will also be collecting signatures for a Cats for the Climate banner.

Then, from 4:15-5 p.m., the group invites all who are interested to gather at the Union's fireplace lounge to network and discuss ideas for the Earth Strike on Sept. 27. At 5 p.m., they'll walk together to join members of the wider community of Manhattan for a climate strike event at Triangle Park.
