Brown-bag lecture Oct. 2 about the characteristics of effective community-engaged scholarship

Submitted by Kylie Rupe

The Center for Engagement and Community Development and Staley School of Leadership Studies will be hosting a brown-bag event from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, in 247 Leadership Studies Building as part of our fall engagement series.

Briana Nelson Goff, professor in the School of Family Studies and Human Services and the director of the Institute for the Health and Security of Military Families, will facilitate a discussion on the characteristics of effective community-engaged scholarship.

These interactive brown-bag sessions encourage attendees to critically reflect on the process and content of community-engaged scholarship, while emphasizing the importance of engaged teaching, research and service. All faculty, graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to attend.
