One-on-one or group help sessions are available for instructors needing assistance with Canvas. Instructors can schedule an appointment to meet with a Canvas expert to review their course and answer questions by submitting a Canvas Instructor Support Request. See the Canvas website for more information.

Content Management System (CMS)
CMS training is required for anyone who needs to build or maintain a university website. Training sessions are offered multiple times per month and K-State employees can register for a training session using HRIS. Students who are not university employees can sign up for trainings by emailing Julie Fosberg at email@example.com. Registration is required. This presentation introduces LIWC2015 (Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count) as a low-cost tool that enables the conducting of linguistic analyses on single texts, collections of texts, and text corpora, to better understand latent data. This tool also enables the application of psychometrics to the text analyses.

NVivo 12 Plus
This session introduces basics of this qualitative data analysis software: the interface; how to start and structure a research project (including a team project); how to ingest various multimedia file types (and curate heterogeneous and semi-structured data); how to ingest some social media contents; how to begin coding various media file types, how to run data queries in the tool, and how to back up the .nvp/ .nvpx project file. This will be run as an interactive session.
NVivo 12 Plus is the leading qualitative data analytics tool on the commercial market, and it enables users to create manual codebooks and apply them to various types of digital data. This session will demonstrate how to set up qualitative and quantitative data to be explored and queried; how to apply the software on interview, survey, focus group, and similar data; how to run various data queries (word frequency counts, text searches, matrix coding queries, matrix queries, proximity text searches, and other forms of text parsing), how to set up qualitative cross-tabulation analyses, how to output a custom codebook, and how to output a report. This tool enables various types of auto-coding (by extracted themes and subthemes, by sentiment analysis, by structured data, and by supervised machine learning based on existing human coding).
Tapping Social Media Data with NCapture and NVivo 12 Plus
This presentation provides an overview of the NCapture browser add-on (to Google Chrome and Microsoft IE) as a tool for extracting information from social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter) and will explore how the extracted data is then analyzed using NVivo 12 Plus, a qualitative and mixed methods data analysis tool. If time allows, other social media data extraction methods and analysis approaches will be included.
