Training and Development Programs

The goal of the K-State Academic Advisor Training (KAAT) program is to provide academic advisors with the knowledge, skills, abilities, and encouragement to do their work in support of areas outlined in the K-State advising mission, vision, and expectations.

The overarching KAAT program consists of a variety of individual training and development programs offered in various formats including workshops, seminars, online modules, and more. Some components are required for an academic advisor to complete within their first year and will be recorded in K-State's HRIS system, while others are optional.

The expectation of K-State leadership is that academic advisors lean into the optional resources and events to support professional growth and ultimately offer a positive, knowledgeable, and consistent advising experience for K-State students.
