3-2 Father absence
“Yes” to all four questions. The key word in the last three questions is can. Mothers who raise their children alone can be heroic in their commitment and endurance. Nothing I say here should be taken as a criticism of what they do.

But there are great risks to children whose natural fathers are absent. Even so, some fathers are not capable of being good fathers and can become a destructive force in the lives of their children. But there is always a cost for separating children from their mothers or fathers. No child wants to be separated from his or her mother or father. Children do not worry about conforming to what is politically correct. If they could put their feelings into words, they would say, “Would someone help my daddy so he could return to me?”
