You will take a risk by becoming a father
Having a child is the greatest risk of your life, one that carries lifetime consequences. You have no guarantee of a healthy child. There are potential challenges that you might have to face. As a former play therapist I worked with children who had a fatal lung disease called cystic fibrosis. At that point, they did not live beyond the age of sixteen (now it’s late thirties). I witnessed amazing heroism and love by their parents who lived every day with a child who would not survive beyond their teen years. The intense physical therapy required of these parents was difficult. Yet I have seen them bring love and happiness into their children’s lives. Although highly unlikely, you could be one of these parents.
