Kurt Barnhart is a Kansan to know

Submitted by Communications and Marketing

Ingram's magazine has selected Kurt Barnhart, head of the department of aviation and director of the unmanned aviation program at Kansas State University Salina, as one of its "50 Kansans You Should Know" for 2012.

The eclectic group of individuals selected for the magazine's list come from all walks of life, including chief executives of billion-dollar organizations, small business owners, entrepreneurs, teachers, TV anchors and the corn-shucking champion of Kansas. The list includes fellow K-Stater Kent Glassock, director of the Kansas State University Institute for Commercialization.

In the magazine's article, Barnhart discusses what makes Kansas such a great place for flight training and producing better pilots. He also discusses the Salina campus' unmanned aviation program, a fast-growing academic program that is reaching new heights in enrollment, research and industry partnership.
