Use words to accurately “own” my emotions
If you can do so safely, putting your anger into words can also reduce the arousal and its potential destructive side effects. Learning to use effective emotion language is more difficult than what we might first think.

The biggest mistake is thinking we are talking about feelings when we begin by saying, "I feel…."

Consider the following statement. Is the speaker talking about an emotion?

I feel that you have been unfair with me.
