Kansas State University continues to provide updates in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The following is a summary of announcements from Nov. 16-20.

Updates continue to be posted on the COVID-19 website, which includes guidance and frequently asked questions about the return to university campuses.

The university continues to track and evaluate COVID-19 data in our community.
Every week, K-State is updating the online dashboard that tracks COVID-19 data in university-connected communities.

Riley County Health Department identifies new COVID-19 outbreaks.
The Riley County Health Department has identified new COVID-19 outbreaks. As of the Nov. 18 report, outbreaks associated with the university include one fraternity, one sorority, one scholarship house, the K-State track and field team and the K-State football team.

The university cancels fall commencement ceremonies.
Due to a rapid, uncontrolled increase in positive COVID-19 cases in our campus communities and throughout the state, Kansas State University has canceled all fall commencement activities scheduled for Nov. 20-22.

President Myers thanks the K-State community.
President Myers gives thanks in a letter to the K-State community for their inspirational efforts with in-person instruction and addresses the current state of COVID-19 in the community.

Health Department announces two-week challenge to slow the spread of COVID-19.
On Nov. 18, the Riley County Health Department announced a 14-day challenge urging the community to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and support healthcare providers.

K-State Athletics announces attendance restrictions at Bramlage Coliseum.
K-State Athletics announced on Nov. 17 that the general public will not be permitted to attend men's and women's basketball games at Bramlage Coliseum through the remainder of November.

Remember to stay safe while traveling and gathering for Thanksgiving.
Review tips for traveling and celebrating Thanksgiving safely to reduce the risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19 this fall.

Get tested to know your status before leaving for fall and winter breaks.
K-State has encouraged students to be tested for COVID-19 before leaving for fall and winter breaks to reduce the chances of infecting family and community members.

Testing is an important part of understanding and stopping the spread of COVID-19. Learn about the different types of tests available at Lafene Health Center.

Support remains available for instructors.
As the university prepares for fall break, please remember that support remains available. The Keep Teaching website is updated regularly and hosts a variety of resources for instructors.

Two K-State studies focus on SARS-CoV-2 transmission in domestic cats and pigs.
Two recently published studies from Kansas State University researchers and collaborators include important findings related to SARS-CoV-2 transmission and the COVID-19 pandemic.
