Coach Snyder to speak at event for future teachers

Submitted by Patrice Scott

College of Education pre-service teachers — both on campus and online — will hear firsthand accounts from K-State football legend Coach Bill Snyder of how teachers make a difference in students' lives during the inaugural EdCats Hot Topics event. Pre-service teachers must register to receive the link to the live event, which will be at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 25.

The hot topics event is hosted by the department of curriculum and instruction's research and scholarship committee, and organizers hope to schedule two to four events each semester.

"There is so much happening in the education profession right now, and EdCats Hot Topics allows us to address issues future teachers are talking about," said Sherri Martinie, associate professor of curriculum and instruction and research committee chair. "We're excited about creating these learning opportunities for our future teachers."
