Financial wellness: Employee Assistance Program offers online financial workshops

The State Employee Health Plan offers an Employee Assistance Program that is a great benefit to employees. The Employee Assistance Program will offer monthly online financial workshops for employees to learn more about managing their personal financial well-being.

The duration of each workshop is approximately 30-45 minutes. If you are interested in a webinar, you must register to attend.

2016 webinars include:

• "10 Strategies for Improving Your Finances," 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18. The current economic climate brings both challenges and opportunities from a financial perspective. The 10 financial tips discussed in this workshop will get you on the road to financial well-being during challenging times.

• "Managing Personal Finances," 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16. Money is a huge stressor for many people, but it doesn't have to be. This workshop will help you demystify the numbers and get you living beyond paycheck to paycheck.

• "The Psychology Behind Saving Money and Other Good Habits," 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22. Most people can honestly say they believe it's important to spend within their means and to save money for the future. This course addresses the psychology behind saving money and adopting good financial habits. The course will examine recent research related to how and why people save versus spend and identify strategies for participants to change their financial mindset and develop new habits.
