Forbes names K-State one of America's Best Midsize Employers

Submitted by Communications and Marketing

Forbes has recognized K-State on its list of America's Best Midsize Employers 2024

K-State is one of only 35 educational institutions on the list, and the only one in the state of Kansas. Winners were based on a survey of more than 170,000 U.S.-based employees. In total, more than 3.5 million employer evaluations were considered, with Forbes ranking only the top 400. Organizations with 1,000 to 5,000 employees were deemed midsize employers.

Survey respondents were asked to evaluate their employers based on several criteria, including work-life balance, compensation, gender pay equity, training programs, opportunities for career advancement, diversity and health benefits. Participants were also asked if they would recommend their employers to others.

The Next-Gen K-State strategic plan emphasizes the importance of the work environment among its 10 strategic imperatives: We will become an employer of choice in Kansas and higher education that prioritizes a culture of well-being, satisfaction and engagement, competitive rewards, recognition of excellence, opportunity, continuous improvement and innovation.
