Rich Augustin retires after almost 18 years of service with the state of Kansas

Submitted by David H. Brown

After almost five years with Kansas State University and a total of 18 years of service as a State of Kansas employee, Rich Augustin will officially retire from K-State on Oct. 3. Augustin currently serves as the human resource payroll manager.

Augustin was hired in October 2018 as the payroll manager for Human Capital Services, now known as Human Resources. Augustin joined K-State with a deep knowledge of payroll processes and practices as well as extensive HRIS system experience, where he spent a good portion of his professional career as a PeopleSoft system consultant. In addition, Augustin's experience at the University of Kansas working on their PeopleSoft HR and payroll system provided K-State expertise with regard to the payroll processing the state of Kansas requires for each KBOR institution. Augustin is a highly-dedicated team member who was always willing to adapt, when necessary, to ensure the payrolls were processed on time and accurately. He is a person who displayed those invaluable qualities that will be hard to replace and the void he will leave in Human Resources will be immeasurable.

Augustin's retirement will give him more time to spend with his grandchildren and truly enjoy those special moments.

Augustin works remotely in the Kansas City area and has elected to celebrate his retirement from home. To honor his request, you may reach out to Augustin personally to congratulate him on his retirement at raaugust@k-state.edu. In addition, you may wish him well on this online Kudoboard so he can feel the sense of purple pride we all have for his dedication.
