KAWSE announces ADVANCE Distinguished Lecture Series Award recipients
The K-State Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering, or KAWSE, announces the ADVANCE Distinguished Lecture Series Award recipients for the 2022-2023 academic year.
The purpose of the award is to encourage tenure-track faculty members in STEM disciplines to make new professional connections. Each awardee receives up to $1,200 to invite a speaker to K-State's campus in their discipline.
The following are award recipients:
ADVANCE Distinguished Lecture Series Award for assistant professors
- Victor Enrique Gomez Leon, animal sciences and industry.
- Hande McGinty, computer science.
- Morgan Zumbaugh, animal sciences and industry.
- Vaishali Sharda, biological and agricultural engineering.
ADVANCE Distinguished Lecture Series Award for associate professors
- Amy Betz, mechanical and nuclear engineering.
- Kathrin Schrick, biology.
- Tatiana Firsova, mathematics.
