Common access card portals now available at K-State Libraries

Submitted by Cailin Riley

Military-affiliated students at K-State now have access to two new common access card readers at K-State Libraries.

The card readers help provide secure access to Department of Defense common access card websites and documents for active-duty military and Department of Defense employees, including the National Guard and Reserves.

Military-affiliated students can check out the card readers by visiting the Library Help Desk on the second floor of Hale Library. Students may use the readers with their own devices or any computer at the Libraries; if a patron uses a library computer, they will be required to download Department of Defense certificates first.

This initiative is supported by the K-State Military-Affiliated Resource Center, the Office of Military and Veteran Affairs and the Army and Air Force ROTC programs on the Manhattan and Salina campuses.
