Registration for Mind Body Challenge starts today

Submitted by HCS-Benefits

Employees who participate in State Employee Health Plan benefits have several resources available to help support and maintain their mental health, including the Mind Body Challenge. The challenge opens today and runs through June 10. Register online before May 20 to start your journey.

The challenge features several daily activities that can help improve our mental and physical health. Take at least three minutes per day to unwind with meditation by relaxing your breathing, clearing your mind and enjoying the peace of being in the moment. Set aside 30 minutes to get out and enjoy the fresh air, especially with late spring upon us. Avoid thinking about our work to-do lists and focus on deep breathing and how your body feels as it moves. Avoid technology for at least an hour and allow your brain to relax by steering clear of any electronic bright lights. And take five minutes a day to stretch or practice yoga, especially in the morning to help loosen stiff muscles.

Participants can earn up to five HealthQuest credits by logging one activity five days per week. Instructions to log activities are available online.

If you have any questions regarding the program, contact HealthQuest at 888-275-1205 and select option 3, or by email at HealthQuest@cerner.com. Your benefits team is also available to answer any questions regarding your benefits at benefits@k-state.edu.
