Lafene Health Center's health promotion offers presentations to any student or faculty groups

As you plan for a new semester, consider inviting the WellCAT Ambassadors or health promotion staff to present to your class or group.

WellCAT Ambassadors is a departmental student organization under the leadership of Lafene Health Center. Members are certified peer educators dedicated to the advocacy of overall health and well-being at Kansas State University. They are trained in a variety of health and social issues pertinent to the college population including sexual health, drug and alcohol use, eating disorders prevention, food safety, nutrition, physical activity, relationships, sleep, mental health, and more. In addition, Lafene's Department of Health Promotion professional staff are available to present to faculty/staff groups. Presentations are designed specifically for your group's needs.

  • Jennifer Miller, DrPH, MA, CPH, is the assistant director for health promotion. She holds degrees in sociology and public health. Her areas of expertise include sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, and the social determinants of health.
  • Megan Katt, RDN, LD, CHWP, is a health educator at Lafene Health Center. She holds degrees in education and dietetics. Her areas of expertise include nutrition, body image, mindful eating, food safety, first aid and CPR, and healthy living and well-being.
  • Chris Bowman is a licensed social worker and is a health educator at Lafene Health Center. His areas of expertise include resiliency, drug and alcohol prevention, and motivational interviewing.
