Reminder: SafeRide Review Task Force needs students

Submitted by Center for Student Involvement

The Center for Student Involvement seeks interested student members for the newly established SafeRide Review Task Force. Faculty and staff are encouraged to share this opportunity with students who may have an interest in participating.

SafeRide is going to look different starting in the fall 2020 semester and student feedback is an important piece of what it will be. Whether you are a frequent user of SafeRide or not, if you want to have a say in how the program will be adjusted in the future, the task force is perfect for you.

The SafeRide Review Task Force will be primarily made up of student representatives from across the campus community. In addition, members of local agencies may be added to ensure a well-rounded, intentional review of the program. Students interested in serving on the SafeRide Review Task Force should complete the interest form. Interest forms will be accepted until 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.

SafeRide was established in 2010 as a Student Privilege Fee-funded program. Its mission is to save lives and prevent injuries and damage to property by offering students and their guests a safe alternative to drunken driving and other threatening situations. It currently is operated by Flint Hills ATA Bus and runs from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday while classes are in session in Manhattan.
