The WellCAT Ambassadors are a group of peer educators that advocate for overall health and well-being at Kansas State University. The WellCATs provide education, host events, collaborate with other groups, and serve as role models in order to promote total wellness to their peers on campus. They are knowledgeable in a variety of health issues pertinent to the college population including sexual health, alcohol use, bystander intervention, eating disorder prevention, food safety, nutrition, physical activity, physical health and more. These presentations are available upon request.

Apply today.

Upon being accepted into the program, each WellCAT Ambassador completes a semesterlong course for three credit hours, EDCEP 360: Peer Health Education and Leadership. Throughout this inaugural semester, the ambassadors are trained on how to serve as an effective peer educator, are certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED, and explore the various health topics in which they promote. The course also connects them to the abundant resources available on campus so that they may serve as a liaison between the services provided and the student body.

The application deadline is Oct. 17. If you have questions, please contact the health promotion office at Lafene Health Center at healthy@k-state.edu or 785-532-6595.
