The Kansas Forest Service will host the annual Fireline Safety refresher course on Saturday, March 4, Kansas Forest Service state office, 2610 Claflin Road, Manhattan, for anyone needing to renew red card qualifications.

The class is free and participants should bring a helmet and gloves for shelter deployment drills. This class meets National Wildfire Coordinating Group standards for annual wildfire safety refreshers. The pack test will be offered, weather permitting, upon completion for those wishing to take it, but is not a required part of the refresher itself. If you wish to take the pack test bring suitable footwear, clothing and pack.

Depending on final schedule, this may involve a working lunch. Details will be provided to those registered as the time gets closer. For details and to register, call Eric Ward at 785-532-3307 or email him at eward@k-state.edu. Space is limited so registration is necessary.
