International Service Teams applications for service leadership in Dominican Republic due Jan. 30

Submitted by Taylor Harrelson

International Service Teams is a program through the Staley School of Leadership for students in any major or minor to participate in service leadership abroad through civic engagement.

This year, students have the opportunity to apply to work with The Dream Project in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. If interested, contact International Service Teams at intlteam@k-state.edu or apply online by Jan. 30.

Students will be advocates for educational empowerment for The Dream Project as counselors for a summer program for at-risk youth. Additionally, students will expand their language as they learn the culture of the Dominican Republic. Participants must be enrolled in or have taken Spanish 3 by the spring semester or possess a similar degree of language proficiency.

Read more about the Dominican Republic site and the program on the International Service Teams website, or stop by the second floor of the Leadership Studies Building. The International Service Teams office is on the northeast side of the building with other student programs.
