Respect and Professionalism in the Workplace for Supervisors session offered June 9

Submitted by Human Capital Services-Learning and Development

Respect and Professionalism in the Workplace for Supervisors, WTD197, will be offered from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Thursday, June 9, in 123 Leadership Studies Building.

The purpose of the session is to create an awareness of the needs of others in order to accept and acknowledge how their needs differ from our own needs. Respectful working relationships and respectful workplaces are integral components to increased productivity, teamwork and morale. The skills learned in their session will contribute to the minimization of negative conflict and subsequently discrimination, harassment and retaliation complaints.

As a result of this session, participants will:

  • Explain the importance of respectful relationships and respectful workplaces.
  • Identify some causes of interpersonal conflict.
  • Discuss communication skills that promote respectful relationships and respectful workplaces.
  • Identify K-State resources to address interpersonal conflict.

This course is offered in conjunction with the Introduction to Supervision, WTD077, series, therefore seating is limited.

To register for this session, you can either sign up through HRIS self-service or send an email to Samantha Roberts at learning-develop-hr@k-state.edu. When sending an email, please include your name, employee ID and the course title.
