K-State physics personnel selected as 2016 CMS LPC Distinguished Researchers

Submitted by Kim Coy

Two members of the K-State physics department have been selected as Fermilab Compact Muon Solenoid LHC Physics Center Distinguished Researchers for 2016.

Ketino Kaadze, assistant professor, was selected as a senior recipient, and Lovedeep Saini, postdoctoral research associate, was chosen for a junior award.

The Distinguished Research program is a defining feature of the LHC Physics Center. The 22 colleagues selected as distinguished researchers are accomplished individuals at different stages of their career.

As recipients of this award, they will receive $10,000 to $15,000 in travel funds and receive more visibility at CERN and Fermilab, thus strengthening and expanding their research programs.

Funding for the program is made possible by the Compact Muon Solenoid Center at Fermilab, the U.S. Compact Muon Solenoid Research Program, and a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.
