Campus Creek re-envisioned

Submitted by Thom Jackson

An exhibition of student work presented by Professors Jessica Canfield and Tim Keane, College of Architecture, Planning & Design, landscape architecture and regional & community planning department, will be open from  8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 24-30 in the William T. Kemper Art Gallery on the first floor of the K-State Student Union.

In fall 2014, a team of 17 K-State landscape architecture and biological and agricultural engineering students collaboratively analyzed and redesigned K-State's Campus Creek corridor — seeking to demonstrate how the landscape and stream could be restored and transformed into a resilient, environmentally and socially beneficial campus amenity. This work expanded and deepened initial recommendations from the Kansas State University 2012 Campus Master Plan update.

A summary of the students' data-driven design proposal is now on display in the William T. Kemper Art Gallery.
