Working With Industry Boot Camp receiving high praise

Submitted by Richard Potter

As previously announced in K-State Today, the Office of the Vice President for Research, the Kansas State University Foundation and the Kansas State University Institute for Commercialization are collaborating to present a series of training sessions to provide faculty and staff with tools to establish mutually beneficial industry collaborations and develop sustained corporate partnerships.

The Working With Industry Boot Camp series continues this week with Session IV: Managing The Relationship from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in the Little Theatre at the K-State Student Union with refreshments and networking reception following. The session will be streamed live.

An interactive panel discussion will include Wendy Elliott, director of Strategic Alliances for Zoetis, Michael Young, professor and head of psychological sciences; Michael Dryden, university distinguished professor of parasitology; and Timothy Burg, professor of electrical and computer engineering.

Response to the Working With Industry series has been much greater than anticipated, with more than 150 K-State faculty and staff registered. Feedback received from the session evaluations has been very positive. "If you want to help make K-State one of the Top 50 public research universities in 2025 be here," wrote one participant.

Videos and materials from prior Working With Industry Boot Camp sessions are archived at the Office of Corporate Engagement website. For additional information, contact Richard Potter, director of the Office of Corporate Engagement, at rmpotter@k-state.edu, 785-532-1840.
