Lilja elected International Agriculture Section officer

Submitted by Elaine Edwards

Nina Lilja, associate dean of international programs for College of Agriculture and K-State Research and Extension, was recently elected secretary of the International Agriculture Section of the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities. This is a four year commitment and Lilja will serve a year each as a secretary, chair-elect, chair and past chair.

Representing 144 universities with active international agriculture programs, the section's priorities include working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to internationalize their programming, engaging with federal agencies to promote and enhance the whole of government approach to international research and development, and assisting member universities in growing and enhancing their international agriculture programs, as well as conveying the international agriculture priorities of the member institutions to legislation.
