New tool within iSIS allows students to track academic progress to completion

Submitted by Office of Student Financial Assistance

The Office of Student Financial Assistance has a new tool — available within iSIS Student Center — designed to help students better understand satisfactory academic progress.

Regulations from the U.S. Department of Education regarding satisfactory academic progress have  been known for being quite complex since they take into account various measures of a student's academic progress such as GPA, ratio of credits attempted versus credits successfully completed, and number of total credits earned versus total credits required for a degree.

This new functionality was developed via a joint effort between the Office of Student Financial Assistance and the Office of Information Systems.

The new satisfactory academic progress tool allows every student at Kansas State University to view his/her progress status as of the most recent evaluation. The Office of Student Financial Assistance typically evaluates each student for satisfactory academic progress shortly after grades have been posted at the conclusion of a scheduled term. The office tracks academic progress both cumulatively and on a term-by-term basis.

By accessing the tool, students are able to view their current status, an explanation of how that status was determined, any academic requirements associated with the status, and information on what to do next. The Office of Student Financial Assistance highly recommends that students familiarize themselves with this new tool. To access the tool a student must log on to iSIS and navigate to his/her Student Center. From there, the student should select View Financial Aid, Aid Year, and then My Financial Aid Details. The satisfactory academic progress tool will be shown on the last tab of this page.
