Program Changes
University Handbook, Section F 64.5
A student may transfer from one college to another with permission from the dean or the dean's representative of the college into which the student proposes to transfer.
Do not take a change of major, secondary major, dual or double majors, undergraduate certificates or minors lightly. If you are contemplating a change, we encourage you to contact your academic advisor or faculty mentor in the department into which you wish to transfer to discuss curriculum requirements.
Deadline for Major Changes:
The deadline for making changes to your primary program/plan is the 20th day (Census Day) of the Fall/Spring semesters and the 20th day in the Summer semester {see the Academic Calendar}. After this date, your primary program/plan is locked for the current term and tied to your tuition and fees, which are assessed based on this information.
General guidelines for students
- International students
- F-1 students who change their major program will require an update to the form I-20. Once the process is completed within KSIS, ISSS will update the form and email a new I-20 to you.
- J-1 students need to first consult with an advisor in International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) prior to initiating a curricular change.
- NCAA athletes should consult with Athletics Compliance and your Acadmic Advisor prior to initiating a curricular change.
- For students interested in double/dual/secondary majors or minors, consult your Academic Advisor any time in the semester for more information.
- Some professional curricula may impose additional GPA requirements before considering approval of a change.
