What Are Student Records?
Student records are the official documentation of a student’s academic history and activity at the university. Maintained by the Office of the Registrar, these records include information essential for supporting enrollment, degree progress, and academic integrity.
Student records typically include, but are not limited to:
-
Course enrollment and academic schedules
-
Grades and cumulative GPA
-
Degree programs, majors, minors, and concentrations
-
Credit for Prior Learning
-
Academic standing and honors
-
Official transcripts and certification of degrees
-
FERPA privacy designations and directory information status
These records are protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), a federal law that governs the access to and release of student education records.
The Office of the Registrar ensures the security, accuracy, and confidentiality of student records while providing timely support to students, faculty, advisors, and approved third parties in accordance with university policies and federal regulations.
Important Notice Regarding Notary Services
The Office of the Registrar (REG) and Wildcat One Stop (WOS) offer notarization services on a limited basis. These services are confined to educational records that are issued, maintained, or supported by REG or Student Financial Assistance (SFA).
Requests for notarization of documents outside this scope should be directed to an external notary public.
