These offices, programs, and awards are available to all K-State students.
Cats' Cupboard Initiative is a collaborative effort among students, faculty, staff, and community focused on promoting food security at K-State. We provide direct food access through an on-campus food pantry, in addition to education and engagement opportunities. Cats' Cupboard is accessible to all K-State students and employees.
Student Opportunity Awards give financial assistance to K-Staters who demonstrate extreme financial need or who need temporary financial assistance. Special consideration is given to students whose future at K-State may be in jeopardy and to students who have exhausted all other forms of financial assistance.
Financial Courses
These courses provide an introduction to personal finance skills that will be useful through students' lifetimes.
Want to learn more through a three credit hour course? Learn how to create a budget, check your credit, buy a car or house, what type of insurance you need, how to invest money, how much money you will need to retire, and many more practical financial topics. This class if offered by expert faculty in the K-State College of Human Ecology's Personal Financial Planning unit. Check the K-State catalog for current section times and dates. Note: one section of this class is reserved for freshmen and sophomores only.
Need a one credit hour class? Money 101 (PFP 101) provides an introduction to resources and tools available to assist students in developing beginning personal finance skills that will assist them throughout their lifetime. Application exercises will allow students to apply personal finance knowledge in solving real-life problems. No textbook is required and class dates vary by term.
