Kansas Voter Registration Day

Submitted by Keirn Kinnan

Wildcats Vote, a registered independent student organization, is encouraging all students, faculty and staff to register to vote today, April 13 — Kansas Voter Registration Day.

Civic engagement and voter participation should be a yearlong priority, rather than one solely in the fall. This April 13, we want to encourage all people to continue to make sure that they are prepared for the next election. Although we saw historic turnout in the 2020 election, it is vital to our democracy that everyone stays cognizant of upcoming elections. We want to encourage all people to continue to participate in every federal, state and local election, regardless of the year.

Even if you are already registered to vote, we encourage you to check up on friends and family to make sure that they too are registered. However, if you have moved, changed party affiliation, or have changed your name then you need to re-register. Encourage your family and friends to also check their registration.
