Johnson Cancer Research Center 2019 Conquest magazine

Submitted by Marcia Locke

The 2019 Conquest magazine is hot off the press, with brief, easy-to-read stories showcasing some of the excellent cancer research happening at K-State. Also featured is a chat with Coach Bill Snyder about facing cancer and supporting research.

Featured this year:

Dong Lin, industrial and manufacturing systems engineering, who 3D-prints bone tissue for breast cancer research.

Mark Weiss, anatomy and physiology, an expert in stem cell research.

Nora Springer, pathology, who studies fat tissue changes that promote tumor growth.

Jazmine Snow, lab tech and recent graduate in microbiology, who studies human papillomavirus, or HPV, in Nick Wallace's lab.

Brian Geisbrecht, biochemistry and molecular biophysics, who studies a tumor trigger that's linked to the immune system.

Bill Snyder, retired K-State head football coach, who is a member of the Johnson Cancer Research Center's advisory council and a cancer survivor
