Graduate Faculty Mentor Award

The Graduate Faculty Mentor Award serves to recognize the important role graduate faculty play in graduate student success. In particular, faculty have a positive impact on their students’ development and success now and after graduation when they support the students’ participation in professional development activities, such as events to present their research and scholarship and to develop their communication skills.

Award selection

Recipients of this award are selected based on nominations from graduate student and on their students’ participation in the annual research forum events—Research and the State, Three Minute Thesis, and the K-State Graduate Research, Arts, and Discovery Forum.

In the spring semester, the Graduate School will distribute a call for nominations to graduate students who participated in the annual research forums.

The award is presented at the annual Graduate Student and Faculty Recognition Celebration in April.
