Placement

WildCAT EPT or other scores are used to place students into the right level of ELP classes or to demonstrate that they have English proficiency needed to begin university classes in an undergraduate degree program. Students move through the ELP at different speeds and are placed into levels based on the guidelines described below.

Undergraduate students can provide official documentation of English proficiency until 12:00 p.m. (noon) of the last day of enrollment (usually a Friday) before the first day of classes. After this time, scores from the WildCAT EPT and previous ELP classes will determine students’ placement for the current semester. Any evidence of English proficiency provided after this time will be used for placement the following semester.

Graduate students in ELP classes will be placed into classes based on the policies of the Graduate Pathway Program.
